Ever want to try mountain biking? Already riding and want to hone your mountain biking skills? This clinic is great for beginners looking to gain more confidence and learn the fundamental skills to conquer single track. If you've been riding a while, this is also a good clinic to practice and hone your skills. Attendees must bring a mountain bike in good working order (plan ahead and see a tech today!), flat pedals, athletic shoes and helmet. Plan to dress for all weather conditions. If you don't have bicycle please contact The Recyclist to arrange availability.
We will begin at the Appleton location where you can get your bike set up properly and practice and learn the fundamentals. We will then pedal to Riverview Gardens to practice those skills. We will return to the shop around 12/12:30 where we can get cleaned up and have lunch at Mr. Brews.
About your instructor:
Nita Diaz borrowed a friend's mountain bike 6 years ago and was instantly addicted. After a few nasty crashes she sought out clinics to improve her skills and this year completed the IMBA Certification course as a Level One instructor. Her goal is to introduce women to mountain biking in a fun, relaxed way and help woman develop confidence on the trail! "Most women get into the sport through men, who tell you to just pedal harder! But we don't have the same power output and our center of gravity is different on a bike, which require a difference set of skills to be successful on a trail. By showing you a few skills, you will find your riding become much more confident & faster very quickly!"
